Nutrition Services
Nutrition services are provided by a registered dietitian (or RD) who can offer comprehensive consultation on all of your nutritional and dietary needs. The training to be an RD is rigorous - having to hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in a major course of study in dietetics and nutrition, having to complete a minimum 900-hour professional nutrition internship and pass a board certified exam. A registered dietitian is a medical professional certified by the American Dietetic Association, and is state licensed as an LDN. To maintain one's professional license and certification, regular continuing education is required.
Why would you see a Dietitian?
- You want to relieve chronic health conditions - like diabetes, high cholesterol, food allergies, headache, indigestion, high blood pressure, constipation, fatigue - and you know you need a plan, and you don't know where to start
- You need to lose weight and need some help
- You want to stop your cravings and binges

What other services does a Registered Dietitian provide?
You are what you eat! You've heard that time and time again, right? Well an RD will sit down with you and through discussion, help you to determine what's right for YOU to be eating. Taking into consideration any medical conditions, as well as lifestyle. Let's face it - we don't all have time to sit down to three hot meals a day. Everyone's schedule and demands on time and money and access to food are different. Your RD will work with you to build a plan that will help you achieve realistic and attainable goals you're looking for.
Not sure how to eat healthier, make better food choices, or shop and cook? Our dietitian will help you! You will learn how to do any or all of these through one-on-one counseling for you or for the whole family, cooking classes, seminars and grocery shopping guidance.
What can you expect when you see the Dietitian?
You will work with the dietitian to develop an individualized nutrition treatment plan just for you. Your plan will help you gain the nutrition knowledge and behavioral strategies you need to reach your desired health goal. Length of treatment is individualized to you. The number and frequency of sessions will be based on your achievements and/or confidence in reaching your personal goals.
Whatever your nutritional goals are, we work together to make them happen!
