Cosmetic Rejuvenation Acupuncture by Jennifer Caron at Body Therapeutics in Worcester

What is Cosmetic Rejuvenation Acupuncture?

Cosmetic Rejuvenation Acupuncture is a safe, effective and NATURAL way of improving the look and feel of the face and body, without using surgery or synthetic injectables like fillers and botox.

As we get older, our body loses collagen and elastin, and we start to see changes in our appearance. We begin to get wrinkles and fine lines. We lose muscle tone, collagen and elastin, causing our skin to sag. Our complexion becomes darker and duller. Wrinkles get deeper. Sometimes there are asymmetries that emerge – where one side of the face looks different than the other. Cosmetic Rejuvenation Acupuncture is a practice that can NATURALLY help balance and improve our appearance and rejuvenate skin.

We don’t call it Facial Acupuncture simply because we work on more than just the face! Many people’s main areas of concern for Cosmetic Rejuvenation Acupuncture are their neck and chest – we treat those areas as well! Cosmetic Rejuvenation Acupuncture treatments are focused on face, neck and top of chest.

What is a Cosmetic Rejuvenation Acupuncture Treatment like?

A Cosmetic Rejuvenation Acupuncture course of treatment (10 sessions) involves a combination of the following SIX amazing therapies:

* ACUPUNCTURE: the insertion of the smallest gauge acupuncture needles into points on the face and body. Acupuncture helps increase circulation and decrease inflammation. Acupuncture needles are inserted into fine lines and wrinkles to improve their appearance and into muscles to help relieve tension and stimulate collagen production.

* MICROCURRENT: the application of microcurrent via a handheld device that stimulates the facial muscles, and helps to build collagen and elastin and improve muscle tone, which improves the sagging of skin on the face, neck and chest.

* MICRONEEDLING: the practice of microneedling involves using a handheld wand that has tiny needles that pulse into and out of the skin, which helps to even skin tone, build collagen and elastin and improves acne scars.

* CELLUMA LED-LIGHT THERAPY: the use of a specially-contoured LED light device over the face that promotes building of collagen and improving healthy circulation, which help with wrinkles, complexion and facial pain.

* FACIAL CUPPING: similar to cupping used on the body, but involving much smaller cups and NO bruising! The cups are gentle and encourage the movement of fluid and lymph, helping to reduce swelling and puffiness.

* FACIAL GUA SHA: more gentle than gua sha performed on other areas of the body, helps to relieve tight facial muscles, improve the contour of jawline and cheekbones, and helps reduce appearance of lines and wrinkles.

Initial Cosmetic Rejuvenation Acupuncture Evaluation: Like any other acupuncture treatment, Cosmetic Rejuvenation Acupuncture involves first taking a thorough health history and understanding what features are your areas of concern. This is done during the Initial Consultation (a 45-minute consultation-only appointment). This is where we begin – and will answer all your questions if you’re curious!

Cosmetic Rejuvenation Acupuncture Treatments: After the initial consultation, if you decide to pursue Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture treatment, it is recommended to do an initial round of 2 sessions per week for 5 weeks (10 total). There are a total of 6 amazingly effective therapeutic strategies that will be utilized during your sessions – acupuncture, microcurrent, microneedling, Celluma led-light therapy, facial cupping and facial gua sha. Each cosmetic rejuvenation session is typically 75 minutes, and involves at least three of these treatments.

Why 10 sessions? This is so that we can be certain to be building a cumulative effect with each session and get you the optimal results you’re looking for. Like anything else you start – exercise, physical therapy, eating well, etc. – if you do it less than twice per week, it’s difficult to see the results you want. Once you see the results that you’re happy with, you can choose to move to a maintenance course of treatment, which is usually 1-2 sessions per month.

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture should only be practiced by Licensed Acupuncturists who have been specially trained in this niche area of acupuncture. Jennifer Caron completed an 80-hour training (40 hours of classroom clinical theory and 40 hours of hands-on study) with Facial Acupuncture Industry Leader Shellie Goldstein, and is certified through her Academy of Advanced Facial Cosmetic Acupuncture program. Jen also learned from renowned instructors like Michelle Gellis and Mary Elizabeth Wakefield.

Unfortunately, we cannot bill your health insurance for facial rejuvenation acupuncture. This is because these specialty sessions are much more time-consuming than a traditional acupuncture session, and insurance plans don’t reimburse for that extra direct practitioner time. Also many insurance plans limit the conditions/diagnoses for which they will pay for acupuncture treatment, and facial rejuvenation is not among them.

** If you have a health spending account (HSA) or flexible spending account (FSA), you can use those funds to pay for the sessions out of pocket. **

The pricing structure for Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is as follows:

Initial Evaluation (does not include a treatment): $75 – 45 mins

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture session: $150 – 75 mins

Package of TEN Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture sessions: $1,350

These can be purchased online and sessions booked by calling our office!

Yes! It will depend on when you’ve had some of these procedures, as it is necessary to wait a certain amount of time depending on what you’ve had done. We can answer any of your specific during the Initial Cosmetic Rejuvenation Consultation, so that we can schedule out your sessions accordingly.
