Jennifer Caron, Lic. Ac., MAc.
Licensed Acupuncturist, Founder

Jennifer is a Licensed Acupuncturist, and the founder of Body Therapeutics. She is licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Board of Registration in Medicine and is a graduate of the New England School of Acupuncture – the oldest acupuncture school in the US, which is now part of the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS) in Worcester. She has 14 years of experience practicing in both Chinese and Japanese styles of acupuncture, as well as many adjunct therapies including moxibustion, cupping, electro-stim and tuina. Jen’s particular specialties and interests lie in the treatment of chronic and acute pain, stress and anxiety, infertility and women’s issues, and migraine headache.

Jen spends most of her other time with her husband and their three children. As a family they enjoy skiing, hiking and playing sports. Jen is also an avid runner and triathlete, and has done many half marathons, marathons and triathlons. Jen enjoys learning new ways to provide a healthy upbringing for her children, and she is a strong home birth advocate. Prior to becoming an acupuncturist and opening Body Therapeutics, Jennifer was a Certified Public Accountant and also taught Aikido and Zen meditation for many years. It was the combination of martial arts and meditation training, her business background, along with her Chinese Medicine education that inspired the creation of Body Therapeutics.

Alexandra Buzzeo., Lic. Ac.
Licensed Acupuncturist

Alexandra (Ali) Buzzeo is a Licensed Acupuncturist, and received her Master of Acupuncture from the New England School of Acupuncture. She is nationally board certified in acupuncture through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

Ali previously worked as a therapist with neurodiverse children and their families after studying Psychology at New York University’s Psychology graduate program.

She has a particular interest in facilitating emotional healing through acupuncture. Other areas of interest include women’s health and chronic pain conditions.  

When she is not working, Ali practices and enjoys meditation, breath work, yin yoga and hoop dancing.

Michele Recore-Bollar, Lic. Ac., MSTOM
Licensed Acupuncturist & Chinese Herbalist

Michele is licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine to practice Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. She is also a nationally certified Diplomate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Michele graduated from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York with a Masters of Science Degree in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) and has over 18 years of experience practicing in Chinese medicine. Her specialties include (but are not limited to) Women’s Health, Family Medicine, Cancer support and Acute/Chronic Pain. In addition to acupuncture, she incorporates many adjunct therapies into her treatments including moxibustion, pediatric Shoni Shin, cupping, electro-stim and tuina. 

Michele is a Worcester native and received her BA from the New College of Hofstra University. Prior to her Traditional Oriental Medicine studies, she worked for many years in the Media Design and Technology field in New York City. When not in clinic she can be found out in the woods Geocaching with her family or chasing their dog around town.

Karina Beleno Carney, Lic. Ac., FABORM
Licensed Acupuncturist & Chinese Herbalist

Karina Carney is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbal Medicine Practitioner in Massachusetts. She graduated with a Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAOM) from the AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine, and also studied abroad at the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Teaching Hospital in Chengdu, SiChuan, China and has been in practice for nearly 20 years.

Karina specializes in working with the mind/body/spirit connection, utilizing a variety of techniques including acupuncture, cupping, TuiNa, e-stim, Chinese Herbal Medicine, and more to treat many conditions. In addition to her general practice, Karina is a board certified reproductive Acupuncturist, with a clinical focus in women’s health, infertility, pregnancy, and post-partum – menarche through menopause! Karina has extensive experience working closely with individuals and couples to navigate the tricky time of creating a family. Karina has worked as a birth doula in Boston and the Washington, DC area, and has birthed three children of her own.

Karina also works as a professional actor, and enjoys spending time with her family, two dogs and two cats. Her favorite place of relaxation is on the beach. 

Karina is committed to equitable treatment for all her patients, provides culturally competent care for LGBTQIA+ and Latine patients, and is supportive of single mothers by choice. Karina habla español.

Tycho Sajkowicz, Lic. Ac.
Licensed Acupuncturist & Chinese Herbalist

Tycho Sajkowicz is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist who received his Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the New England School of Acupuncture (NESA). He is a nationally certified Diplomate of the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

Tycho previously worked as a university teacher and teaching assistant in Zhuhai, Guangdong, China. He also works as an online teaching assistant at NESA, and as a professional translator, proofreader, and graphic designer. He is a second-degree Reiki practitioner.

His main area of interest is treating chronic conditions that encompass both physical and emotional impacts, such as autoimmune and digestive disorders, trauma, anxiety, and depression. He believes in the power of a multifaceted approach involving lifestyle and dietary adjustments in addition to regular treatments and herbal therapy.

Outside of work, Tycho enjoys spending time in nature, taking care of his two cats, cooking, and analyzing classical Chinese texts. Tycho會說普通話/國語。(can speak Mandarin Chinese).


Sean Thornton, DC
Doctor of Chiropractic

Dr. Thornton is a licensed chiropractic physician with over 20​ years of experience and has been with Body Therapeutics since its opening in 2009. He is a graduate of Cleveland Chiropractic College in Overland Park, Kansas, where he focused on sports injuries and played hockey, softball, volleyball and lacrosse. Dr. Thornton has continued his education in areas of strength & conditioning, ​Sports injuries, ​nutrition, chiropractic and golf, extremity adjusting and maternity and pediatric care.

Dr. Thornton earned his bachelors in Biological Sciences with a concentration in Sports Medicine / Athletic Training from Pfeiffer University in North Carolina. Dr. Thornton is also certified to prescribe custom orthotics ​from Sole Supports ​and often uses a multitude of techniques and tools ​including Diversified, Thompson and Activator, ​to help his clients feel better and maintain their health and well being for the long haul. Dr. Thornton is a full-time chiropractor at Body Therapeutics and accepts most major insurance carriers.

​Dr. Thornton continues to be active coaching and playing lacrosse in the ​local community. Other hobbies include exercise, skiing and spending time with his wife and son.

Massage Therapists

Alison Burney, LMT, NCTMB
Licensed Massage Therapist

Alison is a Licensed and Nationally Certified Massage Therapist with over 20 years experience, and has been with Body Therapeutics since our opening in 2009. She is a graduate of the Massage Institute of New England where she studied many different styles of massage including Classic Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Healing Stone Therapy. She has also been a Usui Reiki practitioner since 1999. Alison enjoys using a variety of techniques to create a personal treatment to fit each person’s individual needs.

The people she typically serves are seeking treatment for a variety of issues including chronic pain, fibromyalgia, rotator cuff restriction, stress, anxiety and sleep disorders. Alison has continued her development with classes in deep tissue, prenatal, and infant massage. She has been trained by Tracy Walton to provide massage to people experiencing cancer treatment and with a history of cancer. Alison strongly believes that massage helps people to reconnect with their own body and bring them to a place of profound health and healing.

Christopher Gengarelli, LMT
Licensed Massage Therapist

Christopher is a Licensed Massage Therapist with over 23 years experience. He is a graduate of the Atlanta School of Massage, where he also completed a progressive Asian Bodywork Program, focusing on Chinese Massage (Tui Na), Shiatsu, and Thai Massage. He found that the complement of eastern and western modalities is crucial in treating people from a holistic perspective.

Christopher has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Boston University and a graduate level diploma in the field of Classical Chinese Medicine. He has also been practicing for twenty years in the martial art of Taiji, a soft and relatively internal discipline, which serves as the foundation of his work. Christopher has strong conviction that health comprises mind, body and spirit, and that massage is a place in which all of those aspects can be improved.

Bree Marion, LMT
Licensed Massage Therapist

Bree is a Licensed Massage Therapist and a graduate of The Bancroft School of Massage Therapy. Bree aims to help you feel better and move easier through therapeutic massage and CranioSacral Therapy.  She believes in the value that massage and bodywork can bring to a person’s overall health and well-being and enjoys that her work allows her to treat people as a whole: affecting mind, body and spirit.

Before working as a Massage Therapist, Bree worked in the human service field for nearly 15 years. It was from this experience and point of view that she became interested in massage therapy and the role it can play in emotional and mental health. Outside of work Bree enjoys connecting with nature, gardening and growing things.

Mike Rogan, LMT
Licensed Massage Therapist

Mike is a Licensed Massage Therapist and a graduate of Spa Tech Institute. Mike uses a tailored approach to massage for each client, utilizing a combination of Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular techniques, as well as Sports Massage and Swedish Massage. The clients he typically works on are seeking everything from chronic pain relief and injury treatment to stress and anxiety relief.

Before working as a Massage Therapist, Mike worked in the human service field with vulnerable populations of children for years. He enjoys seeing the benefit that massage therapy brings to his patients’ emotional and physical wellbeing.

Tricia McIntosh, BA
Practice Coordinator

Trish has been the friendly face at our front desk since 2021. After graduating from Westfield State College, Trish worked in the Professional Salon Products industry and then the Industrial Packaging field. Trish then followed her passion and spent 11 years teaching ballet at a local studio before joining the Body Therapeutics team

When not at work, Trish enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 children. She enjoys Yoga, horseback riding, reading and crafting. Time by the ocean helps Trish recharge and recenter. Trish has a naturally positive attitude and an empathy for people in pain. She believes that self-care is essential for everyone, especially busy moms and that holistic medical practices such as ours heal people deeply both physically and mentally. She looks forward to meeting new clients every day and making people feel comfortable at our practice.

Amy McDonough
Billing Manager

Amy manages the processing of all health insurance claims and patient billing. She holds her Certified Professional Coder license with AAPC through Advanced Coding Services and has over 13 years of experience in the billing and coding field. Before joining Body Therapeutics in 2023, she has worked with laboratories, ophthalmology offices and substance abuse clinics in the past.

In her free time she enjoys spending time with her two young children, husband and their dogs. She also enjoys cooking and being outside, hiking, running or being at the beach. With her husband’s military background, they have lived in Florida, San Diego, Phoenix and Oregon, and now have finally come back to settle their roots in Massachusetts with family. She has unique experiences including running a food truck and catering company when her family resided in Oregon.
